 Professor Miriam Stark has worked in collaboration 
 with Cambodia's Ministry of Culture and 
 Fine Arts since 1996 on the archaeology of the 
 Mekong Delta.  She will discuss the earliest 
 states in mainland Southeast Asia which emerged 
 between 500 BCE and 500 CE, a period known 
 as the Axial Age.\n\n
