 Lois Meyer and 
 Benjamin Maldonado are the co-editors of New 
 World of Indigenous Resistance: Noam Chomsky 
 and Voices from North, South, and Central America 
 (City Lights Books, 2010), an examination 
 of the work of linguist and political activist 
 Noam Chomsky in the context of the struggles 
 of indigenous peoples to retain their distinct 
 cultures and ways of life in the face 
 of globalization.<br>\n
 <br>\n
 Lois Meyer is an 
 applied linguist and bilingual educator who 
 has collaborated for more than a decade with 
 the Coalition of Indigenous Teachers and Promoters 
 of Oaxaca, Mexico. She is Chair of the 
 Department of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural 
 Studies in the College of Education at 
 the University of New Mexico.<br>\n
 <br>\n
 Benjamin 
 Maldonado is an anthropologist and Academic 
 Director of the Colegio Superior para la 
 Educacion Integral Intercultural de Oaxaca, 
 as well as consultant to the state's office for 
 indigenous community secondary schools. Dr. 
 Maldonado has published extensively on themes 
 related to indigenous education and autonomy.\n
