SUMMARY:"Weavings of War" Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:
 "Weavings of War" showcases textiles 
 made in a variety of techniques and for different 
 purposes by artists -- mostly women -- 
 who have incorporated pictorial imagery in their 
 work to communicate their personal and collective 
 experiences with war.\n
 \n
 With textiles 
 from Asia, Africa, and North and South America, 
 the exhibit represents an eloquent and 
 powerful testimony of the impacts of modern warfare 
 in our world and the relevancy and resilience 
 of folk arts in contemporary life.\n
 \n
 The 
 exhibit will run from June 11 through September 
 21, 2012. Gallery hours are from 12 p.m. 
 to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays in the 
 LookOut! Gallery within Snyder-Phillips Hall.
