SUMMARY:MSU WebDev CAFE 2012 Summer Forum
DESCRIPTION:
 THEME\n
 \n
 What MSU developers need to know about
 licensing and open source applications?\n

 The summer forum will explore a variety of related
 topics/questions related to licensing,
 including:\n
   * What should MSU developers know
 regarding using open source code in developing
 sites for MSU?\n
   *  What kinds of licensing
 agreements can they enter into, and what
 kinds can they not?\n
   *  Can they share code
 they write with other MSU developers?\n
   *
  Who in the University is permitted to write
 and release programming as open source?\n
   *
  If a developer has produced web programming
 or an app that she/he thinks might be commercially
 viable for the University, with whom can
 she/he work to determine next steps (if any)?\n

  * What are some examples of MSU projects
 that have been developed through both commercial
 and open source licenses, and what lessons
 have been learned from them?\n
