SUMMARY:Arts and Letters 50th Anniversary Mosaic-making
DESCRIPTION:
 From 9 am - 2 pm on Tuesday, July 31, outside 
  \n
 the east end of Wells Hall A Wing, the College 
  \n
 of Arts and Letters 50th anniversary 
 group is  \n
 going to be creating a tile mosaic 
 that will  \n
 spell out CAL on a prepared and 
 stained piece  \n
 of wood as a fun collaborative 
 project for our  \n
 50th anniversary. The 
 site is at the east end \n
 of the southern-most 
 wing of Wells Hall \n
 adjacent to the International 
 Center building's \n
 lower-level rear 
 patio seating area. There \n
 will be tables for 
 supplies and the mosaic \n
 will be on a large 
 easel. Professor Danielle \n
 DeVoss, Writing, 
 Rhetoric and American \n
 Cultures, and our 
 Creativity Exploratory \n
 Fellows and CAL staff 
 members will be there \n
 executing the event. 
 They will be be inviting\n
 passersby and faculty, 
 students and staff\n
 to place  a tile in 
 the mosaic and help create \n
 it.  We plan to 
 videotape the mosaic-making \n
 process, take 
 the finished video, and speed \n
 it up to show 
  the mosaic being created in \n
 fast-time over 
 about  60 seconds or so.  \n
 Sparty is coming 
 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., and \n
 he will place 
 the last tile around 2 p.m.\n
