 October 
 is National Cooperative Month and 2012 is 
 the UN's "International Year of the Cooperative." 
  Please join us to celebrate and learn about 
 the history of cooperatives, the cooperative 
 movement in the twenty-first century, ELFCO's 
 inception, and what ELFCO is doing today. 
 Photos and stories will also be shared to 
 illustrate how cooperatives are important in 
 the world of Fair Trade.  For example, small 
 farmers' coffee cooperatives in Guatemala and 
 Mexico work with Cooperative Coffees (coopcoffees.com), 
 a group of roasters in the U.S. and 
 Canada, to bring their product to coffee shops 
 and retailers here in Michigan and elsewhere.\n
