SUMMARY:Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
DESCRIPTION:
Tom Stoppard's hilarious Tony AwardŽ-winning play
centers on the misadventures of two minor
characters from Hamlet. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
Are Dead is structured as the inverse
of Hamlet: the title characters are the leads,
and Hamlet himself has only a small part.
The duo appears in this comedy primarily when
they are off-stage in Shakespeare's play. The
play focuses on free will vs. determinism,
the search for value, and the impassivity of
certainty framed by the comedy, cleverness,
and ambiguities inherent in language. This is
signature Stoppard, author of The Real Thing
and The Coast of Utopia as well as the film
Shakespeare in Love. Tony AwardŽ winner John
 Rando directs.\n\n
