SUMMARY:Complicating College Impact Research
DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Matt Mayhew, Associate Professor of Higher
Education at New York University, will discuss
how he has used quantitative criticalist frames
for his own line of inquiry, for related
lines being pursued by his graduate students,
and for framing his recent co-edited volume
 entitled Spirituality in College Students'
Lives: Translating Research into Practice. Specifically,
Mayhew will provide an overview of
his interpretation of the quantitative criticalist
frame as well as specific examples of
how he, his students, and his authors have used
this frame to inform research questions examining
how college affects students. In addition,
he will share feedback he has received
from peers in the review process with specific
regard to his use of the quantitative criticalist
 framework.\n\n
