 What is the role of language in "doing gender?" 
 And how is it manifested in different world 
 languages? With the help of Professor India 
 Plough, this year's Translation Conversation 
 will bring together (via video-recorded Skype 
 conversations) three women, one in Japan, one 
 in South Africa, and one in Turkey. Each will 
 discuss the use and effects of gendered language 
 in their native languages of Japanese, 
 Zulu, and Turkish.\n\n
