 author, lecturer, and historian of African American 
 quilt studies. She is the founder of the 
 Women of Color Quilters' Network; is the 2014 
 recipient of the National Endowment for the 
 Arts' National Heritage Fellowship; and is 
 the curator of the MSU Museum's current Earth 
 Stories exhibition.\n\n
