SUMMARY:Knowledge Maturation & Knowledge Networks in New Product Development: by Dov Te'eni
DESCRIPTION:
ABSTRACT >> Knowledge maturation and knowledge
sharing have an intimate relationship,
one that has its ups and downs, so to speak.
This research examines patterns of knowledge
maturation in the context of New Product Development
at a home-appliances manufacturer. We
view knowledge maturation pragmatically as
an ensemble of many myopic maturation processes.
Each myopic maturation process progresses
iteratively from one understanding to another
in the local context of applying knowledge
to achieve a particular work goal. These knowledge
maturation processes are situated and empirically
plotted in the product's development
lifecycle and in the company's formal and
informal networks of knowledge sharing.\n
