 "Changing the Paradigm of ARF to AKI: A Pediatric 
 Intensivist's Perspective on Critical Care 
 Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy",

 At 
 the end of the presentation, the participant 
 will be able to:\n
 \n
 1.	Recognize the 
 development of and technical challenges to the 
 use of continuous renal replacement therapy 
 (CRRT) in children.\n
 2.	Describe the techniques 
 used to minimize the risks of CRRT specific 
 to small children.\n
 3.	Interpret the current 
 definitions of AKI and the importance of the 
 change in paradigm from acute renal failure 
 (ARF) to acute kidney injury (AKI).\n
 4.	Distinguish 
 the limitations of creatinine as a biomarker 
 of AKI and appreciate the emergence 
 of some of the newer biomarkers of AKI.\n
 5.	Identify 
 some recent research being done in pediatrics 
 on risk assessment for AKI and prevention 
 efforts.\n
