Tanya Walker, Graduate Research Scholar and Studio
 Artist, MSU\n
 Readings by Pastor Melvin Jones
 and MFA artist Gregory Flicker\n
 \n
 Tanya
Walker's art is composed from images and colors
related to the Jewish Diaspora and African
Crossroads of the German East Africa Company,
from 1888 to the end of World War One. Tanya
enjoyed art studies and Hebrew in private school
with French Sephardic Jewish teachers in
Ohio. She created art forms by mixing clay,
oil, stone, textiles, and wood from the former
Native American and Sephardic Jewish plantation
counties of Alabama owned by five generations
 of maternal ancestors. The interracial
and Southern Jewish folklore she heard there
now speak in her exhibition programs with voices,
 musical lyrics, and illustrations. \n

Studies, African Studies Center, and the
Department of Art, Art History, and Design.\n
