DESCRIPTION:
 In accompaniment to the exhibition Fire Within: 
 A New Generation of Chinese Women Artists, 
 the Broad MSU will host a conversation featuring 
 curator Dr. Wang Chunchen and select artists 
 from the exhibition. Jennifer Dorothy Lee, 
 PhD, Assistant Professor of East Asian Art 
 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago 
 will moderate. Exploring the shifting sense 
 of identity and agency around the role of women 
 in Chinese society, the discussion will unpack 
 the exhibition's driving impetus and major 
 themes. Punctuated by insights from the artists-who 
 will discuss their work and personal 
 experiences as women artists-audience members 
 will be offered the opportunity to delve deeper 
 into these important issues and engage 
 in fruitful intercultural exchange.\n\n
