SUMMARY:Quilted Conversations: Materializing Civil and Human Rights
DESCRIPTION:
 Quilted Conversations: Materializing Civil and
Human Rights grew out of a collaborative community
 engagement project that uses quiltmaking
as a platform to raise awareness about civil
and human rights issues. Through community
created quilt blocks and quilts from the MSU
 Museum's collection, Quilted Conversations demonstrates
 how creativity can foster community
building, civic dialogue, and ultimately civic
 engagement. It connects contemporary community
efforts with Martin Luther King's work
 with communities. \n
