SUMMARY:Altered Tour: Watersheds, Rivers, and Wheels
DESCRIPTION:
Ride with us and explore the Red Cedar River on
two wheels! With Gideon Mendel's Drowning World:
Red Cedar River Project as our backdrop,
we'll ride our bikes from campus along the
Lansing River Trail to where the Red Cedar River
meets the Grand River. On our way, we'll
talk to MSU professionals to identify and understand
our watershed and find out what's being
done to reduce pollutant runoff in our rivers.
From our bikes, we'll also consider our
daily activities and how they contribute to changes
in our environment. The Red Cedar River
Project is a partnership with MSU's Cultural
Engagement Council, the organizing body behind
this year's thematic year of arts and cultural
programming entitled Water Moves MSU. The
 year-long initiative fosters and celebrates
cultural and artistic expression inspired by
 water including conservation efforts, scientific
 research, and sustainability.\n\n
