SUMMARY:Artist Talk: Jan Tichy
DESCRIPTION:
 Join Chicago-based artist Jan Tichy as he discusses 
 his studio practice alongside the major 
 public projects he has embarked upon in recent 
 years, including projects in Chicago and Gary, 
 Indiana. Tichy will also discuss his most 
 recent endeavor as the current resident for 
 the MSU Federal Credit Union Artist Studio Series, 
 which invites artists to interact with 
 the community through site-specific installations 
 and educational programs. Focusing on the 
 Flint Water Crisis, Tichy has embarked on 
 a community-based project that connects Lansing 
 area high school students with high school 
 students from Flint to explore the ways that 
 art can address social and political issues. 
 The physical culmination of these efforts will 
 result in a unique installation occupying 
 the Alan and Rebecca Ross Education Wing of the 
 Broad MSU, set to open on January 21, 2017.\n\n
