DESCRIPTION:
 David Barber, University of Manitoba's associate 
 dean of research in environment, earth and 
 resources, is also Canada's Research Chair in 
 Arctic System Science, leading the International 
 Polar Year Project. He has published more 
 than 230 articles in peer reviewed journals 
 pertaining to sea ice, climate change and physical-biological 
 coupling in the Arctic marine 
 system. He leads the Churchill Marine Observatory 
 and Hudson Bay Studies. Barber is a 
 recognized expert on several national and international 
 committees with invitations to science 
 meetings across the world.\n

 Lucette Barber 
 is the research associate and communications 
 manager for the Center for Earth Observation 
 Science. She conceptualized and developed 
 Schools on Board, a national outreach program 
 of ArcticNet. She led eight field programs 
 on the CCGS Amundsen as science expeditions 
 and oversees and promotes the International Arctic 
 Science Partnership and engages in collaborative 
 initiatives with Canadian Arctic Inuit 
 and other indigenous people.\n\n
