SUMMARY:50 Years On: Conversations Around the Collection
DESCRIPTION:
Join us as we continue with our second conversation
in this spring series collaboration with
the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities
titled, 50 Years On: Reflections on Race,
Racism and the Legacies of the 1967 Detroit
Riots. Coordinated around the visit to MSU
on April 3 by the award-winning writer and
journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates as part of the World
View Lecture Series, the Broad MSU is offering
a series of programs that promote discussion
about the burden of racism in American
society. Join us for our second installment of
three conversations centered around a work
from our collection. Featuring assistant curator
Steven Bridges, along with special guest
Carl Taylor who will use the work of Margaret
Burroughs as a departure point for their conversation.
 Support for this program provided
by the MSU Creating Inclusive Excellence Grant/Office
