  Shamsiddin Kamoliddin, Doctor of Historical Sciences, 
 presents new studies on the Samanids 
 during the 9th and 10th centuries in Uzbekistan. 
 Professor Kamoliddin's research interests 
 include the medieval history and historical 
 geography of Central Asia through Arabic, Persian 
 and Turkic sources. He is the author of 
 seven books and about 200 articles in Uzbek, 
 Russian, English and Arabic.\n
