SUMMARY:Listening To Our Environment
DESCRIPTION:
Join us for an immersive experience in sound at
Abrams Planetarium! In this listening and writing
workshop we'll shut off the noise of an
artificial world and let our minds wander.
Resting in the sounds of falling rain, the songs
of birds and the rustle of leaves we'll observe
the power of the landscape to express
itself. Through guided writing exercises we'll
tap into a refreshed sense of intuition and
contribute our own voice to life's unfolding
story. This event addresses themes in our current
video program, "When the Land Speaks."
Our guest speaker is Stuart Gage, director of
 the remote environmental assessment laboratory.
Writing workshop leaders are Masaki Takahashi
and Grace Carras, founders of The Poetry
Room in Lansing. Be sure to come back to Abrams
Planetarium on Dec. 6 for "Signs of Life,"
the unique, open-mic follow-up to this experimental
 workshop.\n\n
