 	Dustin 
 J. Byrd is an associate professor at Olivet 
 College in Michigan, where he teaches comparative 
 religion, philosophy and Arabic. Professor 
 Byrd is a specialist in contemporary Islamic 
 thought and the Frankfurt School's Critical 
 Theory of Religion. His research includes 
 the intersections of political philosophy and 
 political theology, the challenge of Islam 
 and modernity, and the role of religion within 
 contemporary liberation movements. He recently 
 published his book "Islam in a Post-Secular 
 Society: Religion, Secularity and the Antagonism 
 of Recalcitrant Faith" (2016), and, along 
 with Seyed Javad Miri, co-edited the book 
 "Malcolm X: From Political Eschatology to Religious 
 Revolutionary" (2016).\n\n
