DESCRIPTION:
 At the inaugural Jack Rudin Jazz Championship, 
 MSU was one of 10 jazz programs competing for 
 top honors at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New 
 York City. Advancing to the "Final Four" on 
 Sunday, Jan. 19, MSU's Jazz Orchestra 1 conducted 
 by Rodney Whitaker went up against North 
 Texas, Indiana and Temple universities. MSU 
 finished 3rd overall, including four individual 
 honors for MSU students announced at the closing 
 ceremonies. ​You can see this award-winning 
 ensemble perform with renowned jazz 
 pianist Bruce Barth, part of the MSU Federal 
 Credit Union Jazz Artist in residence series.\n\n
