SUMMARY:Math Seminar Series
DESCRIPTION:
 Algebra\n
 \n
 Lennart Gehrmann from Universität Duisburg-Essen
 will be speaking.\n
 \n
 The seminar
is titled "Gelfand's trick for the spherical
 derived Hecke algebra."\n
 \n
 This is a virtual
 meeting.\n

 Gelfand's trick
shows that the spherical Hecke algebra of
a p-adic split reductive group such as GLn(Qp)
is commutative. In this talk I will present
a generalization of this result to the setting
of derived Hecke algebras as introduced
by Venkatesh, i.e. I show that the spherical
derived Hecke algebra is graded-commutative under
mild assumptions on the coefficient ring.\n\n
