No Mix Color Workshop with Olivia Gude
(Public Programs)
Set aside the color wheels, value scales and color harmony projects. Journey through the world of color with Olivia Gude in this hands-on arts educator workshop. You'll experience fun, fast, inexpensive and smart solutions to developing color vocabulary and color sensibilities. Reconsider the color curriculum and the larger implications of the media, methods and structures that shape art teaching and curriculum.
Olivia Gude is the Angela Gregory Paterakis Professor of Art Education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Gude is a member of the Council for Policy Studies in Art Education and the Educational Advisory Board of the PBS series Art 21. From 2012-14, Gude was a member of the Visual Arts writing team for the Next Generation National Core Visual Arts Standards. Her research focuses on developing new paradigms for visual art curriculum.
Spots are limited. Advanced registration required. Register here.
Offered in collaboration with the MSU Department of Art, Art History and Design's annual Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series. Gude will offer a public lecture at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in 107 S Kedzie Hall.
