Ubuntu Dialogues Virtual Practitioners Symposium
(Special Events)
This half-day virtual Symposium is organized under the auspices of the Ubuntu Dialogues project, an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation-funded partnership between the Stellenbosch University Museum and the African Studies Center at Michigan State University. The partnership is geared toward establishing new and strengthening existing connections and cooperation between universities, museums, and communities.
The Practitioners Symposium brings together and connects practitioners, professionals, and academics whose work informs, adds to, or complicates the concepts of Ubuntu, Pan-Africanism, and decolonization. We invite you to join us for the interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral conversations on the constraints, opportunities, and the promise of decolonial and community-engaged practice and scholarship in the museum and cultural heritage sectors and creative art efforts. more information...
