Henry Ford + MSU Health Equity Film Series Featuring 'Black Motherhood Through The Lens'

Join us for an informative screening and conversation at the next Henry Ford + MSU Health Equity Film Series featuring "Black Motherhood Through the Lens," a film that follows four Black women's experiences navigating the reproductive and maternal healthcare system from conception to postpartum.
Following the screening of the film, there will be an engaging conversation with the filmmaker, Adeiyewunmi (Ade) Osinubi, M.D. An emergency medicine resident physician at the University of Pennsylvania, Osinubi's work focuses on sharing the stories of minoritized populations that often go untold.

"Black Motherhood Through the Lens" is about four Black women's experiences navigating the reproductive and maternal healthcare system from conception to postpartum. The women in this series have experienced miscarriage, lack of access to infertility care, fears about childbirth, and postpartum depression. It features the stories of Shaylene, Shannon, Ijeoma, and Jai-Me, who despite these challenges, boldlypursued their dreams of Black motherhood.
