Writers Diane Wakoski & Jerome Rothenberg  (Special Events)

Diane Wakoski's work has been published in more than 20 collections and many slim volumes since her first book, Coins & Coffins, was published by Hawk's Well Press in 1962. Her book Emerald Ice won the Poetry Society of America's William Carlos Williams Prize in 1989. Since 1975, she has been Poet in Residence at Michigan State University, where she also holds the title of University Distinguished Professor. Her new book, The Diamond Dog, will be published by Anhiga Press this spring.

Jerome Rothenberg is an internationally known poet, polemicist, translator and anthologist with over 80 books of poetry and ten 'assemblages' of traditional and contemporary poetry, including Technicians of the Sacred and Poems for the Millennium. He pioneered the field of ethnopoetics, a combination of poetic practice and anthropological theory, and has been a longtime practitioner and theorist of poetry performance. His forthcoming titles include Gematria Complete, Concealments & Caprichos, and Retrievals: Uncollected & New Poems 1955-2010.

Please join us for a reading from two of America's foremost contemporary poets -- who are also good friends from their days in New York City in the 1960s. This will be their first reading together in more than 25 years.
