"A Few Lessons from Evolutionary Biology about Human Lactation: What it takes to get it started and
(Conferences / Seminars / Lectures) Presented by Mari Douma, DO, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pediatrics, College of Osteopathic Medicine. At the end of the presentation, attendees will be better able to: (1) identify how the primitive neonatal reflexes relate to the human neonatal feeding sequence; (2) explain the relationship between human milk consumption and infant feeding and care expectations; (3) describe what impacts human milk production; and (4) give examples of infant feeding practices from past and contemporary human cultures.
