Introduction to Odissi Dance at Spartan Dance Center

Spartan Dance Center (Downtown East Lansing) invites you to a one-day workshop: Introduction to Odissi Dance by Shreelina Ghosh and Manasi Mishra. Anyone interested in Indian
classical dance is welcome to join.
Learn about classical, Semi-classical and folk Odissi dance. Discover meanings
of dance hand gestures. Try out the colorful costumes and ornaments worn during
a traditional performance. Let children discover the fun of dancing Odissi.
Shreelina is pursuing PhD in the department of Rhetoric & Writing at Michigan State University. Manasi is an Okemos-based teacher and performer of Odissi dance.
Workshop times:
Adults: November 6, 2010 (Saturday), 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Children: November 7, 2010 (Sunday), 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Price for the workshop is $20.
