Tour of Beal Botanical Garden
(Public Programs)
Tours led by Peter Carrington, Assistant Curator of the Garden
The W. J. Beal Botanical Garden is the oldest continuously operated university botanical garden of its kind in the United States. Peter's delightful anecdotes and vast knowledge of plants make his tours an enjoyable way to spend the lunch hour!
The June tour will focus on plants as food and therapy. Plants are well known as food and medicines. Join Peter Carrington and the Library Environment Committee as we explore the plants we serve and those that serve us. It is sometimes the same plant playing both roles, and some foods started out as medicines.
Tours begin near the pond, in the southeast corner of the Beal Garden. In case of inclement weather, please join us in the Main Library North Conference Room (W449) for a virtual tour of the Beal Garden. more information...
