The widening gap between humankind and the natural world is often disguised by the very structures we build to comfort and protect ourselves. The resulting friction between instinct and facade can give rise to polarizing urges - at once achingly beautiful and fearfully grotesque. Using whale song, Butoh theatre, and telecommunication, Musique 21 presents a "concert" that gradually devolves toward a kind of ecstatic truth.
