The 5th Annual Spartan Remix is an event unlike its kind where diverse communities from the Council of Racial and Ethnic Students and the Council of Progressive Students come together in celebration and education of their communities with the larger Michigan State University community. Stop by the University Activities Board table as well as Black Student Alliance, Asian Pacific American Student Organization, North American Indigenous Student Organization, Culturas de las Razas Unidas, Coalition of Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Gay and Transgender Students, International Student Association and Campus Interfaith Council. "What's Your Ink?" is this year's Spartan Remix theme. It is a celebration of multiple forms of artistic and cultural expression (from the art of tattooing, paints, and various mediums of 'ink' while also recognizing our cultural diversity is made up of diverse languages that are spoken and written). See interactive tents filled with fun cultural activities aimed in educating and promoting diversity awareness. In addition, students and community members will provide entertainment through cultural performances throughout the event. Other highlights include: graffiti artist Freddie Diaz, DJ Rod P (the official DJ for the Detroit Pistons), Drag Queen Hershae Chocolatae , music and dancing, a GREEK unity march, and a symbolic positive start to the new school year with the launching of sky lanterns!
