With a veritable who's who of jazz artists performing today, Michigan native, vocal wonder and Grammy-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater performs with Grammy-winning bass player Christian McBride; Oscar Peterson protégé Benny Green on piano; saxophonist Chris Potter, whom The Detroit Free Press called "easily the most compelling saxophonist of his generation;" and drummer Lewis Nash, who has one of the longest discographies in jazz today with performances on over 400 albums. With a grouping like this, they will most assuredly reflect the Festival's jazz-with-a-purpose exuberance, attitude, and joyful fun that continue to be a hallmark of Monterey Jazz to this day.
