MSU Tower Guard's 13th Annual Shamrock 5K Run-Walk-Roll
(Student Events)
The Shamrock 5k Run-Walk-Roll is an annual event that takes place on St. Patrick's Day weekend. It is facilitated by Michigan State Tower Guard, which is a sophomore honorary society that serves the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) in Bessey Hall at Michigan State University. Members of Tower Guard commit extensive time to serving the disabled community at MSU, including direct work with students, as well as fundraising for the RCPD. The Shamrock 5k has been the largest fundraising event for the RCPD for the past twelve years and all of its proceeds go directly to this organization. These proceeds help in funding the equipment and resources needed to operate the RCPD, and they make it possible for students using this center to have an equal opportunity in higher education. So come out and run, walk, or roll on Saturday, March 16 to help this cause! Kick-off the holiday weekend with a race around Michigan State's beautiful campus while supporting the RCPD, Tower Guard, and the Michigan State Community. Who knows? It could be your lucky day for a race!
Following the run, there will be an awards ceremony and refreshments for the participants at Conrad Hall.
Early registration (by March 8) is $20, race-day registration is $25 . Participants can register online or download the registration form at www.msu.edu/~towergrd or www.rcpd.msu.edu. more information...
