George Ellenbogen at the Center for Poetry Fall Writing Series

Montreal-born poet George Ellenbogen's appearance at Michigan State is part of a book tour in North America and Europe for which he will read from his recently published memoir about the Montreal ghetto of his childhood and adolescence, "A Stone In My Shoe: in Search of Neighborhood." He will also read complementary sections from the the recently published memoir of his late partner, Evelyn Shakir, "Teaching Arabs, Writing Self." Some of his earlier work has been translated into French and German.
