Arlo Guthrie
(Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre, ...))
Arlo Guthrie, the eldest son of America's most beloved singer/writer/philosopher Woody Guthrie, performs a night of inspiring music accompanied by heartwarming storytelling on Wharton Center's Cobb Great Hall Thursday, October 3, 2013. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. and will be available online at whartoncenter.com, by visiting the Auto Owner's Insurance Ticket Office in Wharton Center or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.
With his exceptional solo skills, Guthrie proves the folk tradition his father helped created is still alive and well. Arlo Guthrie grew up surrounded by dancers and musicians: Pete Seeger, Ronnie Gilbert, Fred Hellerman and Lee Hays. He absorbed the musical lessons brought to him by each, and along with his father's legacy, their influence created the performer he is today.
