Leana Wen, MD
(Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre, ...)) Co-author of the new book, When Doctors Don't Listen: How to Avoid Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Tests, Dr. Leana Wen is an emergency room physician and patient advocate. She is also a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School and a Rhodes Scholar. Inspired by her own childhood illness and then her mother's long battle with cancer, Dr. Wen is passionate about guiding patients to advocate for better care. A college graduate at the age of 18, Dr. Wen has been a fellow and consultant to the World Health Organization, the Brookings Institution, Eurasia Group and China Medical Board. She has had a fascinating and illustrious career to date, and has been featured in TIME, Newsweek, The Washington Post and The New York Times for her advocacy and research. more information...
