Finding a Summer Research Opportunity  (Academic)

REU stands for Research Experience for Undergraduates. Hosted by colleges and universities across the U.S., REUs provide an intensive research experience on a particular topic within a scholarly discipline. REU participants generally work with an advisor on a research project over the duration of the program (usually 10 to 12 weeks). Host universities cover all expenses (including travel, accommodations, and food) and provide a stipend. For undergraduates with plans for graduate or professional school after MSU, REUs provide the opportunity to expand your professional network and acquire research experience in an area of interest. In this workshop, you will learn more about REUs, the benefits of participation, and effective search strategies, including how to find and apply for REU opportunities. This program is a repeat of the workshop held on November 5, 2013.

Sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Office. For more information, contact us at ugrsrch@msu.edu or by phone at 517-884-4384.
