Exhibit Opening - Turtles in Trouble
(Public Programs) Turtles have been successful since the time of dinosaurs. Though celebrated by many cultures for their long lives and unique shelled form, they are now gravely threatened by human activities. This exhibit will blend art and science to examine the natural history of turtles, with a special focus on those native to Michigan. Featuring beautiful ceramic sculptures by local artist Mark Muhich, and accompanied by photographs and other specimens, the exhibit will offer information on turtle habits and habitats, and outline the conservation challenges now impacting turtles in Michigan and throughout the world. more information...
