Creating a Food Safety Culture Executive Education

The Creating a Food Safety Culture Executive Education program will run May 13-16, 2014 as part of MSU's Food Safety Week. This on-campus executive education hosted by the MSU Online MS in Food Safety includes two days of sessions facilitated by Frank Yiannas, Vice President of Food Safety & Health, Walmart, USA and Adjunct Professor in the Online Master of Science in Food Safety Program at MSU. The program also includes guest lectures by renowned MSU faculty members John Spink, PhD (Topic: Food Fraud); Neal Fortin, J.D. (Topic: Food Safety Modernization Act); and Keith Bezant Niblett, DBA (Topic: Leadership in Times of Change).
Yiannas is the author of Food Safety Culture, Creating a Behavior-based Food Safety Management System, and Food Safety = Behavior (30 Proven Techniques to Enhance Employee Compliance). He is also Vice-Chair of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and past President of the International Association for Food Protection. The program will be conducted at the James B. Henry Center for Executive Development at Michigan State University.
Evening activities will include a welcome reception on Tuesday, May 13, with Frank Yiannas at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center; dinner and a tour at the internationally celebrated Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum on Wednesday, May 14; and a "tailgate" dinner at the Huntington Club in Spartan Stadium, Thursday, May 15.
