Tom Hollon to give a 3 hour NIH R01 Grant Workshop sponsored by the OVPRGS
RSVPs are MANDATORY email vprgs@msu.edu for details
Content and approach-This is not a workshop on R01 grant writing basics. It's about advanced strategies and tactics, many of them seldom used, for writing R01 research plans that can score high and win. Whether you're writing your first R01 or your fiftieth, this is a workshop you won't want to miss.
About the Presenter-Tom Hollon has over ten years of experience helping clients win federal grants and contracts. For more about Tom, visit ScienceSherpa.com.
Pay what it's Worth: An Experiment in Pricing-Tom is visiting campus under an unusual funding mechanism. There is no fixed charge to attend the workshop, but Tom is asking you to pay what you believe the workshop is worth. Towards the end of the 3-hour session you will be asked to record the amount you are willing to pay for having attended the workshop. You can pay by check or withdrawal from a research account. OVPRGS will match attendee contributions up to a max of $3,000.
After the workshop-Tom will also be available Thursday and Friday (8/21-22) for one hour meetings with individual attendees to discuss their grants. The $185 cost of each of these meetings will be split 50-50 between the attending faculty member and OVPRGS. These can also be paid for with check or withdrawal from a research account.
