Featuring African cartoonist Tebogo Motswetla of Botswana; also speaking: Randy Scott (MSU Libraries Comics Librarian), Kurt Dewhurst (Director Arts & Cultural Initiatives, University Outreach/Curator of Folklife & Cultural Heritage, MSU Museum) and Peter Limb (Africana Bibliographer, MSU Libraries)
Tebogo Motswetla holds degrees in 2-Dimensional & Digital Design, Design: Illustration, and Graphic Design. He has his own cartoon business and is affiliated to the University of Botswana. The "Mabijo Series" has appeared since 1989 in Daily News and Mmegi newspapers in Botswana. It features social and cultural themes of everyday life. He has published 3 volumes of his comic book Mabijo on the Move (2010-14), articles, and illustrated several books. He received the 2005 Presidential Meritorious Award and the 2003 Botswana National Art Fair Award. Ex-President of Botswana, Sir Ket Masire, launched the 25th anniversary of Tebogo's popular character "Mabijo" in August 2015. His website is www.mabijo.com
