"The Implications of the March 17th Israeli Elections"
(Conferences / Seminars / Lectures)
Presenter: Yael Aronoff, James Madison College, Michigan State University
What are the possible government coalitions that could emerge from the recent Israeli elections? What likely impact will they have on chances for renewing peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority, on US-Israeli relations, and on other pressing foreign policy issues? What impact might they have on internal debates regarding social and economic issues, such as political/economic equality, the secular/religious divide, and national identity? Lecture followed by discussion.
Yael Aronoff is Associate Professor of International Relations at James Madison College, Michael and Elaine Serling and Friends Chair in Israel Studies, and Director of the Jewish Studies Program at MSU.
