This ensemble is for the young tuba or euphonium player looking to play more varied
and challenging music. Students will hone individual skills such as sight-reading, rhythmic
accuracy, range and tone while also developing a deeper understanding of ensemble skills
such as balance, blend and intonation. All students will have the opportunity to assume a
leadership role in the ensemble and will build a sense of camaraderie amongst fellow low
brass musicians within the community. The course will include six rehearsals which will
culminate in a full concert performance at the end of the semester.
