Altered Tour: Sloth Pieta
(Exhibits (Museum, Gardens, ...)) Do you want to learn more about the mother & baby sloth x-ray in our sculpture garden? Do you want to meet a REAL LIVE SLOTH? Yeah, we thought so. This month's Altered Tour takes a wild approach. Tropical Ecologist and Assistant Professor of Biology at Michigan State University,Gerald Urquhart, talks about sloths and the impact of globalization on their natural environment. Plus, Steven T. Marsh, President and Head Curator of the Creature Conservancy in Ann Arbor Michigan introduces us to Poco, a friendly, two-toed sloth. This tour is bound to give a broader perspective on artist Steve Miller's Sloth Pieta. The Altered Tour series invites scholars and experts across a multitude of disciplines to give guided tours of exhibitions through a non-art centered approach.
