Altered Tour: Detroit Floodwaters and the work of Gideon Mendel  (Exhibits (Museum, Gardens, ...))

Gideon Mendel's striking photographs of flood victims from his current exhibition, Drowning World, were captured in locations from around the world. On August 11, 2014, Detroit, MI resembled one of those locations. Join us as Kimberly Hill Knott, Director of Policy with Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice, helps us understand the flood that President Obama declared a major disaster. Find out who the victims were, what's happening to prevent future disasters, and why some areas are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
