Join the Beat! Celebrating East Asian Traditional Arts is a three day celebration of east Asian culture. The second day of this series features a Nanguan Performance. Nanguan is a style of Chinese classical music originating in southern China. Nanguan features a nine-person music and theatre troupe from Taiwan. Introduction by Shih-Hui Chen, Professor and Chair of Composition and Theory at the Shepherd of Music, Rice University.

There will be a reception at 6:30 p.m. prior to the performance at 7:00 p.m.
