50 Years On: Conversations Around the Collection  (Public Programs)

Join us as we continue with our second conversation in this spring series collaboration with the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities titled, 50 Years On: Reflections on Race, Racism and the Legacies of the 1967 Detroit Riots. Coordinated around the visit to MSU on April 3 by the award-winning writer and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates as part of the World View Lecture Series, the Broad MSU is offering a series of programs that promote discussion about the burden of racism in American society. Join us for our second installment of three conversations centered around a work from our collection. Featuring assistant curator Steven Bridges, along with special guest Carl Taylor who will use the work of Margaret Burroughs as a departure point for their conversation. Support for this program provided by the MSU Creating Inclusive Excellence Grant/Office for Inclusion.
