Artist Conversation with Katrin Sigurdardottir
(Exhibits (Museum, Gardens, ...))
On the occasion of her major exhibition at the MSU Broad, artist Katrín Sigurđardóttir will be joined in conversation by curator and writer Hesse McGraw and architectural designer Anya Sirota. With the exhibition as backdrop, the participants will approach the artist's practice each from their unique vantage points, touching on topics such as the role of memory within the built environment, the interplay of chance and intention within the creative process, and micro and macro cycles of change and transformation-in personal, collective, and historical terms. In a world increasingly shaped by movement, migration, and the formation of hybrid identities, how might art-in particular the art of Katrín Sigurđardóttir-offer opportunities for more nuanced and poetic understandings of what it means to become and belong. more information...
