On the occasion of her major exhibition at the MSU Broad, artist Katrín Sigurðardóttir will be joined in conversation by curator and writer Hesse McGraw and architectural designer Anya Sirota. With the exhibition as backdrop, the participants will approach the artist's practice each from their unique vantage points, touching on topics such as the role of memory within the built environment, the interplay of chance and intention within the creative process, and micro and macro cycles of change and transformation-in personal, collective, and historical terms. In a world increasingly shaped by movement, migration, and the formation of hybrid identities, how might art-in particular the art of Katrín Sigurðardóttir-offer opportunities for more nuanced and poetic understandings of what it means to become and belong.
